Sam Stockman

Sam Stockman is a street photographer who shoots the majority of his work using film. I found the idea of him using film rather than digital photography quite intresting as I haven't came across a photographer who purely uses the same method for each differernt shoot . I prefer the way that  he photographs various different loactions rather than just urban city landscapes, he too captures suburban areas which makes his work different to any of the other photographers I have researched. Also the tones and colours within his photographs are cool/cold which I think adds to the overall effect created. Although his work is quite simple, with the compositioning of his images, I think his work is more interesting due to the fact that he uses 35mm film when taking photographs.

I feel that Stockman's approach to street/urban photography is on a smaller scale in comparison to the other photographers that I have looked at (in terms of the buildings he photographs)which I prefer as he photographs more 'simple' buildings/landscapes which is what I think makes his work stand out from the other photographers I have previously looked at. I think it would be a nice addition to my work if i was to photograph using film, to give my work a retro/old feel, compared to the photos I have already take.
